Dance Canvas is excited to partner with Atlanta Contemporary on a new Summer choreographic Residency. Both organizations are strong believers in the power of art and the strength of artists' voices to heal, make commentary, lift spirits, inspire hope, and demand change. Dance Canvas and Atlanta Contemporary are offering resources to amplify the voices of dance artists in metro Atlanta. The residency is designed to provide metro Atlanta-based choreographers with a platform for creation and presentation of works reflecting the current climate in our communities and to be a creative outlet for dance artists while supporting and amplifying diverse voices.

Dance Canvas is proud to present the inaugural performance of Atlanta's newest professional tap company, The Tap Rebels! The Tap Rebels are the 1st participants in Dance Canvas' new Company Incubator Pilot Program, which provides consulting and resources to an emerging choreographer starting a professional company in Atlanta.

DC NEXT presents the culminating performance of their summer program on Thursday July 25th at 7pm and Friday July 26th at 11 am. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door ($7 at the door for children under 12 yrs).

DC NEXT Summer Choreographic Initiative runs from July 6th-28th at Georgia Tech. Students will be working with Dance Canvas and guest faculty to strengthen their skills "both onstage and backstage".

In partnership with ARTS@Tech, Dance Canvas presents an evening of new choreography, new ideas, and new collaborations at the Ferst Center for the Arts. 8 choreographers will present a diverse mix of dancers and styles, exploring the bridges between movement and life. March 22nd - 23rd, 8pm.

Join Dance Canvas for an up-close viewing of new works by our 2018-2019 Palette Project Choreographers! The Palette Project initiative was established in 2018 to provide emerging choreographers with a place to workshop new ideas and get feedback from focus groups, audiences, and peers. Performance at 7pm at Gwinnett Ballet Theatre (1800 Macleod Dr, Lawrenceville, GA 30043).

In partnership with Dekalb School of the Arts, Dance Canvas welcomes Broadway Artist, Shonica Gooden, to Atlanta for a Hamilton Broadway Master Class. Come learn choreography from the award winning Broadway hit! Spaces are limited, and pre-registration is required. The class will be from 7:00-8:30pm at Dekalb School of the Arts (1192 Clarendon Ave, Avondale Estates, GA 30002). This workshop is intended for ages 16+, intermediate and advanced dancers.

Dance Canvas is holding auditions for Atlanta-based professional dancers for our 2018-19 Performance Series (March 22-23rd at the Ferst Center for the Arts). Auditions will be held at Gwinnett Ballet Theater - Registration at 5, Audition 5:30-7:00. Dancers should come warmed-up and be prepared for ballet, jazz, and modern phrasework. Dancers must be at least 18 years old. Pre-registration is encouraged.

Dance Canvas and Aurora Theatre invites Broadway dreamers of all ages and skill levels to get up and dance like a NEWSIE! Award-winning Atlanta choreographer Ricardo Aponte will teach the dazzling dance routines he created for the current Aurora Theatre hit in this fun community event. These classes are hosted by Gwinnett Ballet Theatre in their beautiful Lawrenceville studios. All classes are FREE and open to the public. Space is limited and registration is required, so “Seize the Day” and register now to feel like the “King of New York”!
